Nutrition for Cancer Kids
In Kerala, 25,000 Children are diagnosed with Cancer every year.
Alarmed by this shocking statistics, Chavaramatrimony.com while observing March 2021 as National Nutrition Month decided to intervene into the lives of Children and their families impacted by this dreaded disease.
We were able to identify, 6 most deserving Pediatric Cancer Patients from different regions, who have been harshly impacted during the lockdown and could not afford the high prices of nutritious foods. On March 30 – 31st, these vulnerable children with Cancer belonging to lower socio-economic background were gifted with Nutrition-Rich Food Kits in an attempt to fight the disease. Each Kit was worth Rs.1500/- consisting of Complan, Eggs, Dates, Almonds, Mix Dry fruits, Sprouts, Oats, Soya Bean, Curd, Milk powder, Carrots, Potatoes, Kiwi, Pomegranate and Glucose.
Every child with Cancer has specific nutritional needs, so it is important to take care of their increased need for Protein, Carbohydrates, and Healthy Fats which is being fulfilled by this humble CSR initiative of ChavaraMatrimony.com.
