November 25th being the Day of International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women & November 26th, Dowry Prohibition Day was observed byChavara Cultural Centre in association with Chavaramatrimony.com with an event on November 25th Thursday, 4:00 pm. The function was inaugurated by Sri. P. Mohanadas, Former Kerala State Human Rights Commission Acting Chairperson. Rev. Fr. Thomas Puthussery CMI, Director, Chavara Cultural Centre presided over the function Message of the day was delivered by the former Mayor of Kochi Smt. Soumini Jain and the Keynote Address was delivered by Adv. Reena Abraham, practicing advocate of Kerala High Court.Chavaramatrimony.com Executive Director, Mr. Johnson C. Abraham welcomed the gathering and Ms. Tiya Thomas, HOD- Airline Tourism, Chavara Institute thanked everyone for organizing and active participation in such a noble event. Everybody felt a strong feeling against “Violence against women” and need for respecting her personality rather than the riches and dowry associated with her with the motto – “Say no to Dowry - #She is my Equal”.
